Listing Verification

Every listing starts from a public business profile. This page explains which parts of a listing have been checked, which have not, and how an attorney or firm can verify or correct theirs.

What is checked

  • The business name, address and phone number are taken from the public profile at the time of import and are reviewed when a correction is requested.
  • Duplicate records for the same office are merged.
  • Listings with no address, phone or website are kept out of search engines until they have enough information to be useful.

What is not checked

  • Bar admission, licensing status, discipline history or professional standing. A listing here is not proof that a person is licensed to practice law. Check with the state bar.
  • Case results, experience claims or marketing statements in a business description.
  • Star ratings and review counts, which are shown as reported by their source and are not the directory’s own assessment.

Verify or claim a listing

Attorneys and firms can confirm their details, add practice areas and correct errors through the contact page. Verified listings carry a label on the profile.
