December 2021 by JeremiahNot pleased with their service. They're polite, however, ineffective. They will only make a phone call on your behalf and give you suggestions on other agencies whom may have more resources to assist you. I need hands on, involved, and outspoken assistance. I thought they'd be more demanding and forceful in their approach. It's a joke, in my opinion. They're a waste of time and space because they don't do anything aside from making a useless phone call. Also, you can tell the credentials for those positions are very low. Some seem to have very minimal education and lack a sense of urgency. You're better off contacting an attorney or Internal Affairs depending on your complaint. I wouldn't recommend to anyone!

December 2021 by Charles McDermottI haven't sought help from the Public Advocate's office in many years, but my several experiences with them has always been very helpful. For example, when I had a solid complaint about a health insurance company, it always resulted in a positive response from the insurer within a week, with an apology and a check in the proper amount. If I had a problem with a city agency, the Public Advocate was very appropriately helpful. I will write an update about the result I get with my current problem. I'm confident that the Public Advocate will be helpful.

December 2021 by helix up. Letitia James should be called the Private Advocate as she is solely in it for herself. I have never seen Ms. James publicly stand up for issues that didn't solely concern African Americans. which is discriminatory. Ms. James and staff, are supposed to do their jobs, be accessible to the public, as they are salaried by the public and not by one faction of the public. I already called for help with a pending issue regarding a taxpayer funded city agency. I was never called back and of course nothing was done. I called again today after 9:30AM speaking to a "Thelma" who told me the weather was too cold for supervisors to be present by 9:30AM--So the rest of the public starts work at 9:00AM but Ms. James and staff are so privileged thus lazy that they think that the weather is an excuse to not do their jobs. That said thank goodness for the internet, as you are also reviewed publicly. Thus, you should be concerned and working for issues that affect us all and you should be doing your job. Mine is not the only negative review of your lack of work. I know that you won't be getting my vote in future as you don't deserve it.

December 2021 by Julio GuzmanOn 2/12/13, I received 2 tickets, one for $25, which I've paid already. The second ticket was $100. I've tried to pay online, but the website doesn't work for me. I have proof to back up what I'm saying. I also had a hearing, which I missed, because I got sick. Because I missed the hearing, the ticket rose to $300. If it is possible, I want a 2nd hearing. If it is not, I will only be able to pay the ticket little by little, because i am in bankruptcy. Thank You.
