Cooper Square Committee put us in touch with Chris Sina at MFJ for emergency intervention with a negligent owner. We are rent controlled and have lived in the same apartment since 1963. Mr. Sina made repeated promises to provide information and assistance. 6 weeks passed, but he did absolutely nothing. MFJ apparently is only interested in "likes" and social media influence. Very disappointing.

I contacted MFJ back in December.  Spoke with para legal Fanny Chan.  Explained the nature of the discrimination I am facing.  She said she would have to consult with her supervisor and call me back. She called me back about a week later and still did not consult with her supervisor, so I was confused why she called.  She then offered to call me back in two weeks.  She never did.  I called her today, and she stated she is "not certain I have a case" then told me she is closing my case. I do not know in what reality this made sense.  One admits they are not certain I have a case then proceeds to close it.  Why?  Common sense would dictate to confirm if I have a case FIRST.  If not, THEN close it.

I meant to write a review for MFY Legal a few years ago when they assisted me w few years back. Low and behold I find myself needing the help they offer at MFY and what better time than now to write the review. First, I cannot say enough good things about their people and their organization. I’m a life long New Yorker and over the moon that this great city has great services for its residents. My issue and what brought me there I can’t go into to detail because it was sensitive and I simply forget most of it. Partly me not recalling it is the top knotch assistance MFY gave me which consequently ending up quashing the matter and out of my life and out of my memory. What I do recall is meeting with a gentleman by the name of Evan. Evan was knowledgeable, professional, and caring. And that sums it my experience this terrible thing I was dealing w I am pressed to remember but I remembered the name of this employee that helped. That’s how good their services are I recall the kind man that helped me. God bless.
