STAY AWAY!  RUN!  DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!  John (or is it Michael) Vingelli was assigned to me by the OPDS and after 8-months as my attorney (in litigation that has spanned nearly a decade) he had not only failed to answer basic questions but he was late to Court on multiple occasions, failed to file requisite (Ordered) Pre-Hearing Statements, refused to make edits to filings to represent my true positions and allowed the other side to both and perceptibly violate my most basic rights and waste my time!  He even filed pleadings with the name "Michael Vingelli" at the top -- begging the question:  "if your attorney can't get his own name right at the top of a filing, how competent can he truly be?"  In my experienced opinion this guy represents the absolute worst that the industry has to offer.  He markets himself as an accomplished lawyer with tons of experience --  but, my experience was that he did nothing but waste my life and time and then defame me to the court (where the Court surmised that I might be a "difficult client") because I was "concerned" with the progress of my own matter, he indicated that I was "micro-managing" and I "cut him off mid-sentence" because he was "bullying" me into settlement before he had spent any significant effort understanding the facts of the case (peppered in dozens of hours of recordings and nearly 1-million pages of discovery) and our potentially winning position!  He then played "victim" to the Court because I demanded that he Withdraw from my matter after he not only made no progress for an entire calendar month but didn't contact me at all between status conferences while allowing the other side to take twice as long as promised to send evidence that we should have received years earlier.  He spent more time and effort fighting me then he did fighting for me...  Where the taxpayers are paying him for the time he spent, I wish that I had more recourse... But, be warned, don't waste $125-$500/hour on this guy (a solo practitioner with a minimal "team" whose website advertises itself as a powerful "firm") so that he can "fight" you instead of your adversarial party.  And, if he can't willfully and diligently earn taxpayer money ($75/hour or up to $156,000/year) to fulfill the contract that he voluntarily entered into; how can you trust him to manage your estate and future...  Yes, I filed a complaint with the State Bar of Arizona -- in fact, Mr. Vingelli used that fact while playing "victim" to the Superior Court Judge (you'll never get to read about any of it because he made sure that the Court Record is "Sealed" to protect himself).  The State Bar Investigation, to the best of my knowledge is ongoing; Vingelli also claimed to the judge that he had been contacted by them upon issue of my comments to them.  Understand also, this is not a complete list of perceptible failures nor my complaints against him in my matter; only some of the most recent, and/or noteworthy.  Buyer, be warned!

John Vingelli and his paralegal, CJ, performed very poorly for me in a personal injury case: 1. Multiple times I requested to be copied on all correspondence to others regarding my case. I was not. 2. I asked to review the Complaint before it was filed in court to make sure there were no errors. My request was not honored and the Complaint was filed with errors of fact which could have hurt my case if it had gone to trial and may have hurt it during the settlement, although there is no way of knowing if the defense attorney picked up on the errors during settlement negotiations because the arbitrator kept the defense and prosecution parties in separate rooms. 3. JV put very heavy pressure on me to settle my case, even threatening to withdraw as my attorney if I did not accept $55K (he initially set damages at $160K). From my observations, it appeared he never had any intention of taking my case to court. 4. Though I felt forced to agree to my share of the settlement on February 12, 2019, I did not receive my share until July 2. And for nearly three months past the due date of April 5, JV did not pay Medicare's claim for reimbursement for medical bills it had paid, causing me to receive notice that Medicare was about to withhold all future medical benefits and that my Social Security benefits would be diverted to pay Medicare’s claim. It wasn't until I reported this to the Bar Association and a bar staff attorney investigated that Medicare and my secondary insurance company were finally reimbursed and I finally received my share of the settlement. 5. Dozens of my emails to JV and/or CJ went ignored, including several reminders that reimbursement payments to the insurance companies were overdue.
